Eurasier

Eurasier

The story of the Eurasier starts in the Fifties with a family named Wipfel that lived in Weinheim in southern Germany.

The family had a wonderful black northern cross breed dog that especially fascinated his owner, Julius Wipfel. After that dog´s death, the family acquired a German Wolfsspitz bitch. With this breed things were less complicated than before but Julius Wipfel greatly missed the great originality in character of his first dog and so he had the idea to create a new breed which should combine the good character traits and natural appearance of both dogs.
The Eurasier is a well constructed, medium sized dog of spitz type, medium boned, with prick ears and coming in varied colors, with a double coat of a thick wooly undercoat and loosely lying harsh top coat of medium length.

Eurasiers are self-assured, calm and peaceful, even tempered with high resistance against any provocation, watchful and alert without being noisy, with a very strongly developed link to their family, disinterested in strangers, with no hunting instinct.
