How often should I brush my sheltie?
A thorough once a week line brushing will be good for most shelties. By thorough we do mean line by line right to the skin. Brush a line spray with water and continue until your entire sheltie is done. Do not brush without spraying with water as this will break and damage your sheltie's coat.

How often should I bathe my sheltie?
Depends on what your sheltie has been up to and into. We bathe our shelties whenever we get home from a show to get all the gunk out, and if not showing, we bathe whenever they get dirty or do not smell nice.

How often should I cut nails?
Once every couple of weeks should keep the nails well trimmed. I am terrible with clippers and find that a small drummel motor tool with the sand paper cylinder attachment works well for me. I trim nails every week. If your sheltie's nails get too long this can cause him pain when walking. Think of having long nails then walking on your hands. Hurts don't it.
